Why resilience as a theme for this event? Resilience has been identified as the means to successfully implement agility. In a world of growing complexity, with long supply chains including an increasing number of products and components being developed in Asia and the uncertainties caused by the unexpected ranging from major storms to terrorism, the risks of interrupted product flow is greater than ever. The Council on Competitiveness and others believe that most companies are not adequately prepared to manage that risk and it is a threat to US competitiveness.

GOAL/QPC, as the only major quality organization in the world that has fully integrated quality and innovation, is in a particularly good position to help its customers strengthen their resilience and minimize their risk by using the best of innovation and quality tools in an integrated package.
